Mission Statement:

To recover, prepare, and distribute wholesome, perishable food for the area’s poor, hungry, undernourished, and homeless.

Agency’s Goals and Programs:

Inter-Faith Food Shuttle receives food from over 220 donors, ranging from grocery stores and restaurants to the NC State Farmer’s Market. The Food Shuttle provides food to over 200 agencies.

Agency Impact on Community:

Inter-Faith Food Shuttle provides low-nutrition soup kitchens with high-quality, ready-to-serve meals frequently. The Food Shuttle has provided families with healthy and balanced meals to eat regardless of poor circumstances since its beginning.

Volunteer Duties:

• Working in the warehouse and on trucks
• Sorting and repackaging incoming food for redistribution
• Loading and unloading trucks full of donated food
• Making compressed recall reports to be sent to recipient agencies
