Agency’s Mission Statement

GEAR UP stands for ‘Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs.’ With the belief that every student can go to college and/or achieve secondary education, GEAR UP  is designed to help middle schoolers think about their future educational goals.

Agency’s Goals and Programs offered to Clients/People Served

GEAR UP’s goal is to provide educational opportunities for middle school students. This grant program is designed to increase the number of low income students who are prepared for college. GEAR UP funds are used to provide college scholarships to low income students.

Agency’s Impact on the Community

GEAR UP raises awareness about college preparation and requirements, college opportunities, financial planning options, scholarships, and financial aid. GEAR UP also develops partnerships among schools, colleges, families, government, foundation, the faith community, and community groups.
