Agency Mission Statement:

To provide a licensed NC, no-kill shelter for homeless animals until they are adopted into loving and caring lifetime environments, to reduce the population of stray animals, and to promote responsible pet ownership.

Agency Goals and Programs:

FAPS relies on volunteers to carry out the mission statement. The shelter has morning and afternoon volunteering opportunities at the shelter or there are other things such as mailings, answering phones, special events, educating, assisting administration, or advertising.

Agency Impact:

FAPS has sponsored spay/neuter billboards and has frequently visited classrooms to give presentations on kindness to animals. FAPS distributes free educational literature at public venues to adults on general pet care, behavioral issues, pet overpopulation, and responsible pet ownership.

Volunteer Duties:

• Walking dogs and performing exercises with them
• Socializing cats and dogs
• Washing FAPS van or cleaning the inside of the van
• Washing and bathing dogs
• Cleaning kitchen
• Washing bowls and dog houses
