To provide the entire community with books, services, and other resources which inform, inspire learning, cultivate understanding, and excite the imagination.
Agency’s Goals and Programs:
The library aims to provide library cards for Durham County residents, loan audiobooks and other digital media devices, provide reference sets for research purposes, maintain a collection of periodicals, provide computers for use by patrons of all ages, inform patrons of the library’s use and references, and much more.
Agency Impact on Community:
The library provides a safe place for academic programs to inspire and enrich students’ lives. It also brings together the community by providing knowledge and uses for patrons of all ages.
Volunteer Duties:
- Providing computer assistance to patrons
- Acting as a children’s center assistant
- Handling the summer reading program sign-up process
- Assisting with the summer reading program
- Shelf reading
