Mission Statement:
To provide quality inpatient and psychiatric services to the citizens of Eastern North Carolina.
Agency’s Goals and Programs:
Cherry Hospital strives to ensure that each patient receives maximum psychiatric and therapeutic services to the extent of his/her individual needs. Cherry Hospital has separate treatment programs for adolescents, patients between the ages of 18 and 60, and patients over 60. They also provide psychiatric rehabilitation programs for adults with severe and persistent problems, as well as providing treatment to tuberculosis patients that are non-compliant to treatment or treatment resistant.
Agency Impact on Community:
The hospital was originally created for black, mentally-ill patients in 1880. For the first 85 years, it served the black population in the state of NC. In 1965, it implemented the Civil Rights Act and began serving patients of all races for 33 counties in the Eastern Region. It currently serves 36 counties with a 274-bed capacity.

- Copying
- Shredding
- Creating booklets for intern students
