Agency’s Mission Statement:

The mission is to care for children and families affected by trauma, abuse, and other forms of adversity. Their professionals utilize a multidisciplinary measurable approach to provide prevention services, treatment for children and families, professional training, and research related to child traumatic stress by uniquely integrating community-based practice and academic excellence.

Impact agency has made on community:

They have created a local program, such as The Durham Family Initiative, Mental Health Services to the Durham Schools, and the Parent/Child Support program. All of these were created in order to help families cope with severe trauma, and also better help the community of Durham’s help itself in the future.

Volunteer Duties:

• Work in the fundraising and donation department
• Learn approach techniques
• Create a scrapbook for heads of the department
