Agency Goals and Programs: ATRC enables up to 45 handicapped children to ride horses every year. This therapy has been shown to increase physical coordination, mental attentiveness, general confidence, and quality of life for disabled people. Agency Impact: ATRC provides disabled children with the uniquely therapeutic experience of horseback riding. Since 1986, the organization has worked to improve the quality of life for physically, mentally, and emotionally challenged children in the mountains of Western NC. They will be offered a chance to express themselves to others who have gone through similar experiences and thus build themselves for the better.
