Agency’s Goals and Programs offered to Clients/People Served The agency offers a wide variety of services to the public such as emergency shelters, courtroom advocates, rape companion, speakers bureau, abuse treatment program, and parenting classes. For the community there are active anti-bullying programs as well as healthy relationship, domestic violence, and sexual assault programs. Agency’s Impact on the Community Since the 1970′s, the Crisis Center has been sheltering, assisting, and providing for the women and men in need. In 2008 the Crisis Center sheltered almost 200 women and 60 children. They have answered over 1,500 crisis calls, assisted with over 500 restraining or protective orders, provided over 100 presentations, and have served as an oasis for Randolph County. Webelos are 4th and 5th grade boys in Cub Scouts. There, the scouts are taught a variety of skills through which they earn activity pins. Some of these programs are aquatics, outdoors men, health and safety, nature, crafts, scientist, etc. In addition to this, the camp has afternoon activites including BBs, archory, swimming, canoeing, rickball etc. Impact the Agency Has Made on the Community This camp is wonderful for the youth of NC in the Old North State Council. The camp has had over 1,000 scouts attend each year. The enviornment created by the counselors for the youth is fun and safe.
