Family Crisis Center

Agency’s Goals and Programs offered to Clients/People Served The agency offers a wide variety of services to the public such as emergency shelters, courtroom advocates, rape companion, speakers bureau, abuse treatment program, and parenting classes. For the community there are active anti-bullying programs as well as healthy relationship, domestic violence, and sexual assault programs. Agency’s Impact on the Community Since the 1970′s, the Crisis Center has been sheltering, assisting, and providing for the women and men in need. In 2008 the Crisis Center sheltered almost 200 women and 60 children. They have answered over 1,500 crisis calls, assisted with over 500 restraining or protective orders, provided over 100 presentations, and have served as an oasis for Randolph County. The form strives to give greater meaning and purposes to lives stressed with disabilities and hardships. Agency’s Goals and Programs offered to Clients/People Served This agency provides a safe, serene, and idyllic environment for individuals interested in promoting physical, cognitive, emotional, and psychological developments within themselves and others. It provides therapeutic horseback riding, recreational therapy, animal-assisted therapy, and horticulture therapy. Agency’s Impact on the Community This agency reaches hundreds of people in the community through Healing Paws, through which therapy pets are taken into nursing homes. Healing Hooves allows participants to learn about their own strengths and weaknesses through horses. Healing Growth allows people to learn patience, gentleness, and accomplishment through horticulture. Volunteer Duties Assist in animal care (clean stalls, groom, feed) Assist with horses while participants are riding them Maintain equipment for activities

Agency Goals and Programs: The shelter runs a complaint investigation service as well as adoption and animal care programs. They also run many clinics, including rabies clinics for personal pets. Agency Impact: The shelter’s clinics have protected the community from rabies so well that they have not had a single care nor worry. St. Joseph's Catholic Church

Agency’s Goals and Programs: Saint Joseph’s offers English and Spanish masses every Sunday and Saturday for the faithful Catholics in the Asheboro community. Counseling is also provided by the church, and portions of the church’s monetary collection goes to many organizations in the community on a weekly basis. Agency Impact on Community: St. Joseph’s is the only Catholic Church in Randolph County and has reached out to all of the Catholics, both who speak Spanish and English, in Randolph County for years. Woodfield Scout Preservation Cub Scout Camp

Webelos are 4th and 5th grade boys in Cub Scouts. There, the scouts are taught a variety of skills through which they earn activity pins. Some of these programs are aquatics, outdoors men, health and safety, nature, crafts, scientist, etc. In addition to this, the camp has afternoon activites including BBs, archory, swimming, canoeing, rickball etc. Impact the Agency Has Made on the Community This camp is wonderful for the youth of NC in the Old North State Council. The camp has had over 1,000 scouts attend each year. The enviornment created by the counselors for the youth is fun and safe.
