Agency’s Goals and Programs offered to Clients/People Served The agency offers a week-long camp that teaches middle-school students new ways to express themselves and their opinions. Debate students focus on not only competitive debate, they also focus on research and speech and writing skills. Speech students focus on reading and interpreting literature, acting, memorization, and the ability to think on their feet. Agency’s Impact on the Community The camp has encouraged middle-schoolers to join both the teams at their own schools and to continue into high school debate. The skills they learn help them write papers, make presentations, read and understand literature, and take their nebulous thoughts, opinions, and ideas and transform them into concise, convincing, and sometimes entertaining arguments.
