To provide residents with the latest best sellers, internet access, movies, music and information through:

• Adult and children focused programs
• Movie Nights
• Book Clubs

Impact agency has made on the community:

Jackson County Public Library has provided residents with a free or low cost way to access resources such as books, magazines, computers, movies, music and other information.

Volunteer Duties:

• Assisting the librarian and staff perform daily library functions.
• Shelf reading
• Shelving
• Processing books.

Agency’s Goals and Programs:

WestCare provides medical services with high standards and affordable costs to the local area of Sylva. Examples of services include a full pharmacy, a well-known surgery department, and a high quality physical therapy department.

Agency Impact on Community:

WestCare has saved the people of Sylva a lot of money and offers many jobs and volunteer positions. Customer service is a key feature of the hospital, so the workers also give personal impacts to the patients’ lives.

Volunteer Duties:

• Working with pharmacists to provide the proper drugs to the required staff
• Working with the local retirement home
• Filling any volunteer gap in the schedule and doing those specified duties
