The Red Cross works to keep their communities healthy and provide for the needy. They do this by providing volutneer opportunities for disasters, local disasters, office assistants, mental health, and the donation of blood. They offer CPR lessons and classes and financial aid to the poor. Everyone deserves an opportunity to live life.

The agency has brought knowledge and support to the community. They provide housing for families after fires . They also give support during disaster situations. They help with search/rescue and search/recovery for people in need. They provide educational sessions for children, teaching responsibility, common sense, dangerous situations, and basic aid training.

Duties You Will Perform as a Volunteer

• File papers and help keep organization in the office
• Help with fundraisers including bicycle racer
• Teach younger students/kids how to fend off criminals
• Help out at blood drives

St. Therese is a rapidly growing, multicultural Catholic family located in the Lake Norman area, and invigorated by a Jesuit spirituality. St. Therese Catholic Church has many programs to serve the people of  Mooresville and surrounding areas. They offer, one week during the summer, vacation Bible school. Two weeks during the summer are set aside for faith formation, as well as yearlong faith formation classes. The goal is to provide a sense of community and provide for the needs of the people of Mooresville.

This organization has bettered the community by providing children with good, safe summer choices. They have also bettered the community by sponsoring canned food drives, school supply drives, and other opportunities for people to come together as a community.

Agency’s Goals and Programs:

Williamson’s Chapel UMC aims to bring the non-churched to know Christ as their savior and to build people’s faith through Bible study. Services offered include worship service, Sunday school, Christian education, mission opportunities, fellowship, etc.

Agency Impact on Community:

Williamson’s Chapel UMC has set a Christian example for the community by regular work teams serving in the soup kitchen, pregnancy center, 5th Street Mission, Winnie Hooper Center, Serenity House, etc. They reach the world by working with other agencies like Samaritan’s Feet and Feed My Starving Children.

Volunteer Duties:

• Performing inventory on all computer and software
• Researching and developing video recorded sermons available through the Internet
• Setting up and working on a blog for coordination with the mission teams
