Iredell Memorial Hospital contributes technology to their pharmacy in order to reduce medication mistakes. The medication from pharmacy reaches patients by a robotic drug distribution system. Medical staff seal barcodes on the patients’ wristbands to make sure the patients receive their correct medications at the right time.

The Iredell Memorial Hospital Pharmacy has made a great impact on the surrounding community in many ways. It is  open 24 hours every day of the week with licensed pharmacists who fill prescriptions based on the patients’ doctors’ orders. The pharmacists ensure the drugs are being used properly and effectively by monitoring the patients. They give precise information to other medical workers about the medications they prescribe.
