To help those who are without food by providing food and moral support for those who have been abused.

Agency’s Goals and Programs:

The goal of ACTS is to provide shelter for those who have suffered from domestic violence. ACTS also offers a food donation program to help with a personal soup kitchen warehouse and to help with other community food supplies.

Agency Impact on Community:

ACTS has made a big impact on the community by always being ready to help those who are in need. They provide hundreds of meals per month, and these meals help to keep the less fortunate fed and give them hope.

The Boys and Girls Club strives to engage young people in activities with adults, peers and family members that enable them to reach their full potential. Agency’s Mission Statement:

The H. Leslie Perry Memorial Library provides our community with services, resources and information for lifelong  learning, culture enrichment, daily living, and leisure activity.

Agency’s goals and programs offered to clients/people served:

This agency happens to be the hub of an integrated learning community. The library provides over 100,000 titles to the public, subscriptions to over 100 magazines and news papers, youth services, technological resources for including instant access for printing, various clubs, and a portal to history through a local history section. Meeting rooms are also available to the public.

Impact Agency has made on the community:

A new library was built in 2006, in order to better serve the community by larger and more cultivated facilities. The new library has created a cherished center for literary, technological and social stimulus and will continue to be a valuable aid for years to come.

Volunteer Duties:

• Serve as an assistant for technological resources

The mission of the Henderson County Public Library is to provide information, educational, cultural, and recreational library services to the residents of Henderson County.

The library offers wireless internet and PCs for public use, homebound services (delivery for people unable to go to the library,) cultural programs (such as ‘Friends of the Library’,) author programs, and children’s programs (such as summer reading.)

The library keeps the community engaged through all of the programs it offers to people. It encourages children to read and offers services that keep the community up-to-date on news around the world so they can be more educated.

Agency’s Mission Statement

The mission of the Henderson County Public Library is to provide informational, educational, cultural, and recreational library service to the residents of Henderson County.

Agency’s Goals and Programs offered to Clients/People Served

The main goal would be to provide access to information. HCPL offers computers with high speed internet, books, homework help, and many other references, using both print and online sources, to fulfill our community’s needs. HCPL maintains a balanced and organized collection of high quality materials and provides professional assistance to others. We have various programs, especially for kids and young adults, that allow them to participate in story hours, art and music programs, afterschool events, and summer reading programs. We also invite guests, including authors, singers, and songwriters to our auditorium for the community.

Agency’s Impact on the Community

HCPL has provided a broad range of library materials and services. We offer assistance for all community residents, encouraging early literacy and life long learning. Being the largest library in the area, we increased cooperation and resource sharing among other libraries. HCPL has been a place that welcomes the community.

Their goal is to offer programs to the public that are suitable for citizens of all ages. They offer recreational theater, kickboxing, senior dances for senior citizens, sport leagues children can sign up for, and many other programs that are geared toward the different seasons of the year. They wish to help make the community a better place by providing useful services to the people.

Agency’s Impact on the Community

The agency has provided many opportunities for children and adults alike to try new experiences that they otherwise may not have had. The agency has helped shape the characters of the children who grew up participating in the agency’s programs, teaching kids to give back to their community and always help others. They also recently built a new state of the art sports facility for baseball and basketball that is open to the public, in addition to their new aquatics facility.
