Agency’s Mission Statement

Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with God and people everywhere from all walks of life to develop communities with people in need by building and renovating houses so that there are decent homes in decent communities in which every person can experience God’s love and can live and grow into all that God intends.

Agency’s Goals and Programs offered to Clients/People Served

Habitat for Humanity works with families in need to renovate and restore old homes or to construct and furnish new homes. The organization strives to create an efficient living environment for the people it serves with the result of low monthly house payments. Habitat also holds fundraisers that allow it to remain a non-profit organization. As well as working to better the lives of needy families, Habitat allows volunteers of all levels of experience to join in side-by-side with professionals to gain experience in each phase of construction. Above all, Habitat for Humanity works to bring families and communities together.

Agency’s Impact on the Community

Since May of 1990, the Haywood County branch of Habitat for Humanity has seen to the construction of 38 brand new homes. This, coupled with the renovations of donated houses, has allowed Habitat for Humanity to touch the lives and hearts of forty-one families throughout Haywood County.

Agency’s Goals and programs offered to Clients/People Served

To assess a patient’s specific needs and provide the personalized support necessary to avoid periods of crisis for anyone with a life expectancy less than six months. They offer an interdisciplinary care team for the patient as well as a spiritual counselor, grief counselor, and trained volunteers. Also offered are music therapy and bereavement services for the family.

Agency’s Impact on the Community

They enhance the quality of life, offer bereavement services to the entire community, and involve the community in their programs, such as preparing casseroles for patients and families, knitting and crocheting prayer quilts, lap robes, etc.
