Agency Goals and Programs:

The Boys and Girls Club strives to engage young people in activities with adults, peers and family members that enable them to reach their full potential. Diverse programs in five areas are offered to fulfill this goal: character and leadership development, education and career development, health and life skills, the arts, and sports, fitness, and recreation.

Agency Impact:

The Boys and Girls Club has positively impacted society by being a positive atmosphere for kids to learn, grow, and have wholesome fun with their peers.

Volunteer Duties:

• Assisting in maintaining proper care of club equipment
• Keeping the club neat, orderly, and in an attractive condition
• Assisting kids with physical activities
• Assisting kids with learning computer software
• Acting as a mentor to children
• Assisting with SMART Moves Program
• Assisting with crafts and outside recreation

Agency Goals and Programs:

The medical center aims to meet the health care needs of the community by providing excellent and compassionate services. The hospital offers many programs to meet these needs. Examples include, but are not limited to, Halifax HealthLink and various support groups.

Agency Impact:

HRMC is the leading employer in Halifax County. It provides approximately 800 jobs. Because of its location on I-95, the hospital not only touches the lives of residents here but also many that travel through the area.

Volunteer Duties:

• Assisting the hospital staff in various departments
• Transporting patients to different areas of the hospital
• Assisting with the monthly CPR classes that are offered
• Making employee packets for orientation

Agency’s Mission Statement

Summer Education get students who were struggling in school ready for the next school year. Not only does this happen, but we also give the students a head start on what they will be learning in the school year to come.

Agency’s Goals and Programs offered to Clients/People Served

The goals of the agency  are to take students who were struggling  in school (i.e. below grade level) and make sure that they are where they need to be and that they are confident with their reading and math skills.

Agency’ s Impact on the Community

This agency makes sure that kids are getting the education that they need. It also makes the kids realize that education can be fun, taking their mind off of negative influences and giving them a brighter future.
