The mission of the Mauney Memorial Library is to create a lifetime love of reading by providing materials, resources, and programs through personal and excellent customer service for area residents.

Agency’s goals and programs offered to clients/people served:

Their goals is to be a vital and innovative centerpiece in Kings Mountain. Mauney Memorial Library provides programs and resources to the citizens in creating and achieving a bright future. To achieve this they offer a wide variety of programs for all ages, one of which is their summer reading program. Their 2009 summer reading theme is “Be Creative”.

Impact agency has made on the community:

This agency improves the quality of life by providing free access to books, information, resources, internet, and programs.

Volunteer Duties:

• Taking inventory of items in the summer reading store.
• Managing the money box for the store.
• Sorting and shelving library books
• Entering data from programs into spread sheets.
