Impact agency has made on the community: The agency has provided people with one of the most basic necessities: food. They have spread the love of God by giving out food and, more importantly, hope and care. Volunteer Duties: Put food on shelves Help load and unload food trucks Deliver food and lunches to people who are unable to come to Loaves and Fishes to get food. Fourth St. Mebane, NC 27302 www.mebaneumc.com (919) 563-4301 Agency’s mission statement: “To make disciples for Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.” Agency’s goals and programs offered to clients/people served: The church has many ministries in which they actively serve and involve the members: Food Pantry, which helps feed many hungry families; sandwich ministry, which provides lunch to school age kids; prison ministry; vacation bible school; Hispanic ministry; bible studies; support groups; boy/girl scouts; youth ministry; shut in ministry; and music programs (choir, youth choir, handbells). Impact the Agency has made on the community: The Church’s youth group has annually donated the most cans of any youth group to the district canned food drive. After discovering the need was greater than the size of the Church’s food pantry, the church partnered with Loaves and Fishes, a local food bank, to create a bigger pantry. The church has volunteers that help with the local “Meals on Wheels” ministry which delivers meals to underprivileged families and shut-ins.
