Mission Statement:
To serve the community by actively promoting healthy lifestyles, and to provide support and services needed by people living with cancer.
Agency’s Goals and Programs:
Cancer Services provides financial assistance, loaned equipment, and supplies to any Gaston County resident with cancer. This includes medicine, wheelchairs, and liquid nutrition. This organization also hosts free screening clinics, educational seminars for teens, and a memorial program.
Agency Impact on Community:
Cancer Services has helped many patients recover from cancer by providing them with numerous kinds of assistance. It has also educated many children about the dangers of tobacco use and has helped the community heal.
Volunteer Duties:
- Clerical work in the office such as paper filing and sorting
- Assisting with events and educational programs
