Agency’s Mission Statement

To improve the quality of life in Alexander County by providing the best library services, collections, and programs possible in accordance with the library’s role as an educational institution.

Agency’s Goals and Programs offered to Clients/People Served

The library’s goal is to promote literacy and education through their many services. Besides offering books, movies, and other media, the library has a computer lab, weekly story times for children, a book club for high school students, and the Summer Reading Program for kids of all ages.

Agency’s Impact on the Community

The agency has made an impact on Alexander County by providing educational resources and programs that promote literacy. Weekly story times allow children to get hooked on reading and grow up with a desire for learning. Also, in our difficult economy, the library allows people to use educational resources at no cost.

Volunteer Duties

  • Assist with Summer Reading Program
  • Read to children
  • Clean
  • Make sure books are shelved in their appropriate places
