Agency’s Goals and Programs offered to Clients/People Served

The Goals of the Ada Jenkins Center is to meet the needs of the community members from North Mecklenburg and South Iredell, while “serving as a catalyst that brings people and organizations together” to build a stronger and healthier community overall. Basically, the Ada Jenkins Center is a collective effort to meet the basic needs of locals who are in need of assistance.

Ada Jenkins hosts a variety of programs and services, which include free medical assistance through the weekly Free Clinic, free Dental Care, Food Assistance, Social Services/Case Workers, a Clothing Loft, Financial Counseling, Crisis Relief, Transportation, an After-School program, and various free courses for certification (for senior citizens and the unemployed) among many others.

Agency’s Impact on the Community

In 2005, more than 14,000 volunteer hours were given by community members. The Center has continued to receive strong support and funding from United Way, local churches, community members and companies since its opening.
