Science Festival Events at NCSSM

There are over 500 science events taking place across NC during the Science Festival. NCSSM has 6 events:
- Thurs (4/19) - Hope Valley Elementary 'Thorpe Science Night' – volunteering to staff fun, hands-on activities for elementary students.
- Fri (4/20) - Nature Research Ctr grand opening in Raleigh (75,000 visitors expected!) - NCSSM Sci Dept has a booth and NCSSM Astrophysics students are staffing the Astronomy club booth.
- Fri (4/20) – DEEP-sponsored Great Barrier Reef live feed, open to the public, Aquatic Ecology students have a display of shells
- Sat (4/21) – TEDxNCSSM, a series of science speakers with an audience of NCSSM and Durham students, alumni, and educators.
- Mon (4/23) - Manya - a play about Marie Curie, For the Modern Physics class but it is open to the public.
- Mon (4/30) - NASA Int'l Space Station – An astronaut will be on campus for a presentation and Q&A This event is open to all.
