NC Student Academy of Science Competition

March 23, 2012 - 3:00pm

Students are invited to register for the NC Student Academy of Science competition that takes place on Friday March 23rd after school at NCSSM. Registration opens this Friday, February 24th and will close on Tuesday. March 13th at 5pm.

Students submit their research paper ahead of time and give a 10-15 min presentation on the day of the competition. Students have dinner with their judges afterwards to get valuable feedback from the judges. This is great experience for the students and offers the opportunity to win an all expense-paid trip to the AAAS meeting.

Go into the NCSAS website, go to Registration and on the right side, there will be the State Registration page. They must fill in all of the information. http://www.ncsas.org/ (Register for the State NOT for a District)

NCSSM covers the registration fees for our students (but we will NOT pay for t shirts this year).

The keynote speaker this year will be Dr. David Haase, Physics Dept, NCSU and founder of Science House. Dr. Haase's research is on the applications of low temperature techniques to the polarization of nuclear targets for neutron scattering. The NCSSM community is invited to attend the talk.
