Congratulations to our First Place team of the NC Regional Science Bowl! The team members - Tejas Sundaresan, Calvin Deng, Yu Wang, Ashwin Monian, and Sammy Luo - are extremely knowledgable in all areas of science and quick on the buzzer. They won first place in the state and will go on to compete at the National Science Bowl on April 25th in Washington DC.

Congratulations to the members of Team 2, Kavi Jain, Jason Liang, Landon Carter, Laura Goodman and Andrew Adams who won 3 of their 5 matches.

Thanks also to our chaperones Chemistry teacher Sarah Allen, and retired NCSSM teacher Leslie Brinson.

"The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) National Science Bowl is a nationwide academic competition that tests students' knowledge in all areas of science. High school and middle school students are quizzed in a fast paced question-and-answer format similar to Jeopardy. Competing teams from diverse backgrounds are comprised of four students, one alternate, and a teacher who serves as an advisor and coach."
