Instructor of Mathematics

I am an Instructor of Mathematics at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, where I have taught since 1982.   During my time at NCSSM, I have had the pleasure of teaching a variety of courses.  During the past 10 years, I have taught:  Precalculus, Calculus, Statistics, Problem Solving Seminar, Calculus of Several Variables, Graph Theory and Networks, Combinatorics, Fractals and Chaos, Complex Systems, Modeling with Differential Equations, Modeling with Matrices, Dynamics of Modern Networks, Advanced Mathematical Topics, Research in Mathematics, and Mathematical Modeling.

I also serve as a statistical advisor for some students taking the research courses in science and for students preparing for Seimen's, Intel, and other research competitions.

I have served as the 2nd Vice President of the Mathematical Association of America from 2008-2009 and presently serve as the Governor-at-Large for High Schools and as the Chair of the Special Interest Group for Teaching Advanced High School Mathematics.
