Teacher Workshops in Biotechnology:
- Marine Biotechnology-Master Teacher-working with Tom Schultz at the Duke Marine Lab in a 4 day workshop sequencing the DNA of marine organisms.
- Biotechnology Basics- PI and Lead Instructor June 2010 3-day workshop covering DNA structure, transcription, translation, restriction digestion and gel electrophoresis, transformation, and yeast fermentation.
- June 2009 Master teacher “Teaching Genetics and Gene Expression Using Microarrays” Alamance Community College. This was a week-long workshop for high school and community college teachers in which they performed a genetic and a gene regulation microarray.

- September 2009-Taught a genetics lesson, “Genetics of Harry Potter”, at the Durham County Public Library to a class from the City of Medicine Academy as part of a special exhibit on Medieval Medicine
- Summers 2008-2010 Lead biology teacher in a weeklong Howard Hughes sponsored workshop “Integrating the Quantitative and Life Sciences” Duke University. This was a workshop for AP teachers in mathematics and biological sciences.
