My aim is not to convince every student to become a humanities major (albeit maybe a minor), but to have every student develop the bedrock skill of a liberal education: critical analysis. Across courses, I advocate for historical thinking’s relevancy to twenty-first century education. Over the past years, I have taught European, African, Atlantic, and World history through courses that place the past and present into an active dialogue thereby revealing why historical analysis must play a role in answering contemporary challenges.
