Ms. Henderson's Bio

Ms. Henderson has a B.S. in Mathematics from Saint Joseph’s University, Philadelphia, PA and a M.Ed. in Secondary Mathematics Education from Widener University, Chester, PA.  She currently is working toward a Graduate Certificate (or perhaps another Masters' Degree) in Instructional Technology and E-Learning from NC State University.

A native of Philadelphia, Ms. Henderson taught for 16 years at an all-girls, college preparatory high school in Wilmington, DE where she served as Middle and Upper Schools Mathematics Department Chair and taught Honors Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Honors Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus (AB).  Ms. Henderson moved to North Carolina when her husband was transferred here for his job in 2007.  After teaching with Wake Tech Community College, she found a “home” here at NCSSM in January 2009.  When not occupied with NCSSM’s Online AP Calculus (BC) course, she is busy daily teaching AP Calculus (AB) and AP Statistics via interactive video conferencing to students all across North Carolina.

Outside of school, Ms. Henderson spends a significant amount of time volunteering at both the local and national level with her sorority, Sigma Sigma Sigma. She loves spending as much as time possible back at home in PA/NJ with her husband, family, and friends, especially at the Jersey Shore.  Ms. Henderson is a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and of the NC Association of Advanced Placement Mathematics Teachers.  She has been nominated by former students and named five times to Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.
