Biography

Education:  B.S. Physics & Astronomy, University of Pittsburgh

                     M.S. Physics & Astronomy, Rutgers University

Academic Interest:  I have been at NCSSM as an Instructor of Physics since 2005.  In recent years, I have focused on the use of projects in student learning.  I have incorporated Project Based Learning using data-collection technology to lead students through new topics.  I also developed the course Physics By Inquiry, which uses student-centered, hands-on discovery activities as the driving force for introducing and learning the curriculum. 

Career Highlights: I have recently attended workshops focused on incorporating new topics into my curriculum, including meteorology, textile science, and nanotechnology. In addition, I serve on the Professional Learning Committee and on an Action Team for the school-wide Strategic Planning process.
