2015 Powwow | Saturday, February 7

Event Information:

The NCSSM Powwow is a public, family-friendly event featuring music, dance, arts, crafts and food. The event hosts American Indian dancers, musicians and artists from across North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia and is a fun way to learn about and celebrate the region's rich American Indian culture.


$5 per person / Free for children 5 and under


  • Intertribal Dancing: 12:00 - 5:00 p.m.
  • Arena Director: Jamie Locklear , Lumbee Tribe
  • Head Female Dancer: Shiana Thomas, Waccamaw Siouan Tribe
  • Head Male Dancer: Kevin Chavis, Lumbee Tribe
  • Indian Arts & Crafts Traders (only by prior approval)
  • No contests, just plenty of good singing and dancing.
