About 25 rising seniors at NCSSM worked this summer on research projects in a variety of scientific subject areas using the lab facilities at NCSSM and local universities.

This summer research program provides extended time, without the added workload of classes, for  construction of experiments, troubleshooting problems, data collection, verification of data reproducibility and much more. The students presented their findings in a summer symposium and many will enter their projects in science competitions during their senior year.
