Audiovisual Equipment Loan Policies

Faculty and staff need a NCSSM identification card with a barcode to check out equipment. Any student wishing to borrow equipment must have a sponsoring faculty or staff member check out equipment on his or her behalf.

For equipment to be delivered and/or picked up, an equipment reservation form must be filled out and submitted to a staff member at least one working day in advance. A request for equipment is tentative until the staff of Instructional Technologies confirms it.

The normal circulation period for equipment is the same day. Equipment checked out for daytime, classroom use must be returned by 4:15 p.m. Equipment borrowed overnight must be returned within one hour of opening the next business day. Circulation periods may be negotiated based upon need and availability.

Classroom Technologies

Instructional Technologies maintains and manages the equipment in the classrooms, and offers training on the use of the equipment.

Most classrooms are equipped with data/video projection, multimedia speakers, and an interface box. To project information from the network or to play a DVD, instructors should interface their notebook computer with the interface box. Interface cables should be available in the classroom. If they are not, please contact the staff of Instructional Technologies.

For issues related to classrooms in the ETC, please contact Evan Rowe for assistance.

Mezzanine Class Area

The class area on the Mezzanine contains seating for 21 to 28 people, a SMART Board interactive white board with projection system, an instructor's station with ELMO document camera, and a 55" HDTV with 3-D Blu-ray DVD disc player.
