World Languages

Our World Language teachers offer courses in a wide variety of languages including Spanish, French, Latin, Japanese, and Chinese. In addition, individual seminars in German, Korean, Russian or other languages may be offered depending on student interest. Many of these seminars are led by students who have proficiency in a language that is not part of the regular curriculum. In World Language, teachers emphasize the spoken word, calling on students to put world languages into practical use.

Courses range from the introductory level, like Introductory Chinese, to more advanced courses like French and Spanish Readings with topics that focus on analyzing authentic literature, film, song and current events from the countries where these languages are spoken.
