Fine Arts

Fine Arts faculty members utilize their exceptional backgrounds, experience, and energy in cultivating the talents of our students and are professionally active in their respective artistic fields. As part of a comprehensive arts curriculum, the music discipline offers performance courses, a variety of music electives and exciting interdisciplinary courses.

Electives in Piano and Guitar, Jazz Studies, AP Music Theory, Recording Technology, Music History, World Music Cultures round out the music offerings.
With a screen printing facility, darkroom, and many other assets, the Art Studio allows NCSSM to offer courses beyond the basics such as Photography, Ceramics, and Graphic and Media Design. In addition to curricular courses in theater performance, the Drama program produces a three show mainstage season annually, including a winter musical and spring Shakespeare performance. The amenities of the John Friedrick Educational Technology Complex, or ETC, allow faculty to offer specialized courses such as Digital Music Production and Music Composition, Arranging, and Theory, and Theater Performance Workshop.
