Contextualize the history you are teaching
Second grade class of the Y.L. Peretz (Yiddish) school in Brussels. Relationship to guideline Teachers should expose students to some of the cultural contributions and achievements of the Jews living in Europe and help students balance their perception of Jews as victims. As this picture illustrates, the Jewish people had a vibrant culture and long history in Europe prior to the Nazi era, and the Holocaust traumatically disrupted every aspect of their lives prior to the war, including their studies.
