Announcements:
1. Please return the School Improvement Group (SIG) survey, if you have not already done so.
2. Joe Liles and Latita Williams will be organizing a Native American program for prospective Native American NCSSM students currently in the middle school grades on February 16 and 17. If you have suggestions or would like to help, please contact Joe.
3. On Alt Day there were two special programs for faculty: a talk by Dr. Morrison and a discussion of learning disabilities.
4. Jon Miller read “The Grinch” in the Hurd Room for alumni later that week.
The faculty discussed, at length, the current state of academic integrity at NCSSM and debated whether or not to change the current system. As it stands now, issues of academic integrity are the purview of each individual teacher to decide whether or not to bring cases forward to a hearing. A motion was entertained and passed to allow for continued teacher discretion in bringing cases forward. An ad hoc committee was established to examine the issue more closely. You may still volunteer for it; please contact Leslie Brinson.
