2.      Approval of the minutes of the last meeting.

3.      Discussion items   

  A.  How do we handle the problem of paid tutors?    Here are some of the issues that need to be addressed:

1. When parents asking for external teachers

a. Should we provide parents with a list of possible tutors outside the school?

b. If so, should we screen them, interview them?

c. What is our responsibility?

d. What are the financial consequences for students who cannot afford private tutors?

We hold general and individual tutorials so as not to discriminate between the have and have-not students

2. Students have asked other students to tutor them for pay.

  a. Do we want to allow this? If so,

  b. How much should students be paid?

  c. What would our responsibility be?

  d. Do paid tutors mean that students have regular paid job?

  Students tutor as workservice students under the supervision of their teacher.

We think that we need some guidelines and a better understanding of what we are trying to do.

B.  The Miniterm committee will discuss recommendations concerning future Miniterms.
