Dr. Richard Chapman is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Auburn University. After graduating with the original class at the NC School of Science and Mathematics he received his B.S. in Mathematics from Wake Forest University; his B.A. in the Final Honors School of Mathematics and Computation of Oxford University while on a Rhodes Scholarship; and his M.S and Ph.D. from the Department of Computer Science of Cornell University. His academic career has been spent mainly at Auburn University, where he is the Director of the Center for Innovations in Mobile, Pervasive, Agile Computing Technology. He is also the co-founder of the Wireless Engineering Research and Education Center, the only accredited bachelor’s degree program in wireless engineering in the U.S. He has authored or co-authored over 60 journal articles, book chapters and other publications, received numerous competitive grants, supervised over 20 graduate students and received a number of awards for his teaching and his scholarship.
