In addition to signing out on sign out cards, verbal parent permission is required for the students to leave 30 miles beyond campus. This permission can be obtained by the sponsor or the student’s SLI. The staff member taking students off campus, should obtain the student’s emergency contact form (available on Focus) and leave a list of students with the SLI on duty.
In addition to signing out, students will be expected to complete curfew extension request forms and turn in to his/her SLI 24 hours in advance. SLI’s will contact parents for verbal permission. Staff members taking the group of students should provide a list of students at the time of departure to the SLI on duty. When returning to campus, the staff member should escort all students back to the Bryan SLI Office.
Overnight trips require written permission from parents detailing where the student is going and with whom they will be traveling. This written permission must also be verified by phone. Student must provide all paperwork along with his/her sign out card at the time of departure. Staff members facilitating the trip should obtain copies of emergency contact forms. Co-ed student groups require a male and female chaperone unless approved by the Vice-Chancellor. Facilitating staff members should leave trip information (phone numbers, itinerary, list of students) with the SLI on duty, and to student’s parents.
