Emergency Work Order Requests

Defined: Poses danger to the health or safety of personnel or equipment – i.e. broken water pipe, exposed wiring, flooding, fire, etc.

  • Anyone identifying an emergency item should notify Campus Resources at (919) 416-2711 immediately stating the problem and location.
  • Campus Resources will determine the extent of the emergency and will contact the appropriate personnel.

 

Non-Emergency Work Order Requests

Defined: Does not pose danger to the health or safety of students, staff or faculty orequipment

Staff and Faculty Requests:

-        When an item is identified requiring a work order request, such as a maintenance or equipment repair, event set-up, etc., send an email to Garry Covington, Director of Plant Facilities, at covington@ncssm.edu,  and copy Chris Taylor, Assistant Director of Plant Facilities, at taylor@ncssm.edu,  stating the problem and location.

-        The Director of Plant Facilities or the Assistant Director of Plant Facilities will review the work order request, schedule it, and assign it to the proper maintenance personnel.  If necessary, the schedule and status will be discussed with the initiator.

-        Maintenance personnel will perform the desired work and will notify the requestor that the work has been completed.

Student Requests:

-        When an item is identified requiring a work order request, students are to notify their respective SLI stating the problem and location.  Students are not permitted to send work order requests directly to Plant Facilities. 

-        The SLI is to report the problem and location via email to Garry Covington, Director of Plant Facilities, at covington@ncssm.edu, and copy Chris Taylor, Assistant Director of Plant Facilities, at taylor@ncssm.edu.

-        The Director of Plant Facilities or the Assistant Director of Plant Facilities will review the work request, schedule it, and assign it to the proper maintenance personnel.  If necessary, the schedule and status will be discussed with the initiator.

-        Maintenance Personnel will perform the desired work and will notify the requestor that the work has been completed.
