The NCSSM Communications Office works closely with other departments to ensure that NCSSM parents receive timely and accurate updates from the school. The office also works closely with the Division of Information Technology Services (ITS) to ensure that parents are able to updated their contact information and access their child’s grades, discipline and attendance records, and much more.
The NCSSM Communications Office sends regular e-mails through the Parent Distribution List, providing parents with information from Student Life, Academic Programs, and much more. If you have an update for parents, please e-mail it to communications@ncssm.edu
The Parent Journal on Moodle (http://moodle.ncssm.edu) provides a dynamic parent-to-parent communication tool where parents can post questions and comments for other parents on a variety of topics. All PDL messages are also posted on the Parent Journal to allow for parent comments, questions and concerns to be voiced in a public setting. Faculty and staff are welcome to enroll in the Parent Journal, but we ask that you refrain from responding to posts by parents to ensure the integrity of the parent-to-parent communication tool.
Each NCSSM family is provided with a unique username and password to be used in Focus (http://focus.ncssm.edu) and Moodle. These login credentials give parents access in Focus to their children’s grades, discipline and attendance records, medical information, and a variety of important forms. Focus also gives parents the opportunity to update their contact information at any time.
NCSSM Institutional Advancement maintains communication with all NCSSM alumni via a monthly electronic newsletter, dynamic alumni web site and regular events throughout the year.
NCSSM's Alumni Programs office holds regular events for alumni both in North Carolina and across the United States. Annual events include Alumni Weekend, Alumni Forum and the Annual Holiday Event. NCSSM Communications posts alumni news and events on the Alumni Connections Web site and disseminates them through a monthly electronic newsletter and other special communications as-needed. If you hear of any alumni news, please email alumni@ncssm.edu.
The Alumni Connections Web site serves as the central source for alumni news and events, as well as online giving. The site includes a career center, message boards, alumni profiles and user-generated content such as class notes and photo albums.
