The State Government Workers' Compensation Program was established in 1985 and is administered by the Office of State Personnel. The purpose of the program is to ensure that all eligible employees who experience a work related injury or illness receive appropriate medical care and equitable benefits as provided under the Workers' Compensation Act and the Workers' Compensation section of the State Personnel Policy.The North Carolina Workers' Compensation Act provides benefits to state of NC government employees who receive an injury by accident while in the normal course of job duty.
