About Student Admissions

  • Parents must be residents of NC by December 1st of applicant’s sophomore year of high school.
  • Applications are considered for admission based on the congressional district of residence.
  • There are no costs to the student for tuition, room/board or text books.
  • The application deadline is January 15th each year.
  • The application process cycle is as follows:
    • Recruitment
    • Applications accepted: October 15th through January 15th
    • Application deadline: January 15th
    • Review & Summer Visitations: May through August

Staff Involvement

The Admissions Office hosts several special event days on campus each year. Employee participation is critical to the success of many of these events. If you are not already a part of these events, we encourage you to get involved. Staff Family Members & Admissions

Staff may have family members apply to attend NCSSM if they meet residency requirements. Consideration and review of staff family member application criteria are exactly the same as for non-staff member applications.
