We found a tractor yesterday
Hiding beside a stream
Tucked in a cocoon of saplings
Each one twirling through gnarled metal
Brown and Orange joining under a canopy of bright Green
The cockpit was empty.
The driver’s seat slowly succumbing to the forest, polyester falling off in sheets
A broken window. The victim of rowdy teenagers. Leaving empty cans and soggy cigarette butts
But it was beautiful.
Beautiful for all the right reasons
Showing itself for a true piece of the Earth blending everything together in a cacophony of color and feeling
Drawing us in. To share in its splendor.
