Contort yourself to slip through
The gap in the gate
Beneath rusted chain
And chubby padlock
To enter a new world
Greeted by enchanting motes
Born on the lightest curl of air
Above the concrete lake
Guarded by vicious bramble
And vines underfoot
Trying to flip you into the Water
Green
And Brown
Coated in lily pads
Too small to see
Unless you drop a rock
And watch them separate
Revealing moribund matter
And life
Beneath the Green curtain
A hidden world within another
Unreachable
But I can look
Then leave through the hole
In the middle of the chain-link
Ragged edged
Pulling you into reality
Away from the woody mercenaries
And fairy-tale breeze
Back into the world
Of roads and cars
Away from secluded pockets
Where planes cross
To create worlds for us
Where we can roam
And play
Together
And inside our minds
Where others are powerless
To stop us
When we cross through the gap
Into the Pond
