The rays of sun caress my skin
In ways you never will again.
The soft wind ruffling through my hair
Replace your fingers’ gentle care.
The constant singing of the birds
Greet these ears that knew your words,
While clouds form pictures in the sky
To illustrate not all loves die
And some arms still will welcome me
Spread like the branches on this tree
Standing firm through rain, and lightings’ bite
And only growing, come what might.
If I could show you but one thing
You’d see the wonders of the spring,
When nature shakes off winter’s snow
To dance anew amid the glow
Of both new life, and recreation
Replacing frost with jubilation.
In ways you never will again.
The soft wind ruffling through my hair
Replace your fingers’ gentle care.
The constant singing of the birds
Greet these ears that knew your words,
While clouds form pictures in the sky
To illustrate not all loves die
And some arms still will welcome me
Spread like the branches on this tree
Standing firm through rain, and lightings’ bite
And only growing, come what might.
If I could show you but one thing
You’d see the wonders of the spring,
When nature shakes off winter’s snow
To dance anew amid the glow
Of both new life, and recreation
Replacing frost with jubilation.
