The NCSSM Unicorns are competitive in many major high school sports, attracting many of the state's top athletes as well as students. Take one step into the Charles R. Eilber Physical Education Center and you'll notice an expansive trophy case depicting a student body as rich in athletic tradition as any high school in North Carolina.

NCSSM competes at the Division IA level in the North Carolina High School Athletics Association, our teams regularly compete in regional and state finals, and several teams have won state championships in the last five years.  Students have the opportunity to participate in the following varsity athletics:
